Questions and answers.
The questions we are asked most, with straight answers. If yours is not here, call 02 513 4119 or send us a message.
I do not speak English well. Will people understand me when I call or visit?
Yes. Our office staff speak Thai and English, so you can ask questions, book a placement test and register in Thai. Lessons themselves are taught in English.
Which course should I take?
Young children who are starting to read take the phonics course. Everyone else joins Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced. A short placement test at the school tells us your level and we recommend the course that fits.
What happens in the placement test?
The test is short and checks your grammar, reading and speaking. There is nothing to prepare. Once we have seen your level we recommend a course and a start date.
Can I start at a time that suits me?
Yes. Join a group class or book private lessons at times that suit you, within our opening days, Tuesday to Sunday. Tell us what you need and we will fit you in.
Are the teachers qualified native English speakers?
Yes. Every teacher is a native English speaker with a British teacher training certificate. Many have lived in Thailand for years and know the Thai school curriculum and how Thai students learn.
Can I learn at my own pace?
Yes. You progress at a speed you are comfortable with, and your teacher will push you to try new things in a supportive class. Mistakes are part of learning. If you never make a mistake, you never learn.
Will I study with people my own age?
Where possible we group students by age and level, so you learn with people at your stage and often make friends along the way.
What if I cannot come to a class?
Tell us at least 24 hours in advance by phone, message or email and we will work around it.
How do I register and pay?
Contact us, take the placement test, then register and pay at the school. Our office staff will take you through it in Thai or English.
Where is the school and how do I get there?
We are at 22/2 Soi Lat Phrao 21, Lat Phrao Road, Chom Phon, Chatuchak, Bangkok 10900. Take the MRT to Lat Phrao, leave by exit 4 and walk down Soi 21. The school is about five minutes on foot.
When is the school open?
Tuesday to Sunday, 8am to 8pm. We are closed on Mondays.
Can you prepare me for IELTS or TOEFL?
Yes, through private lessons. Your teacher works through the exam format, the skills it tests and timed practice.
Do you run English classes for companies?
Yes. We teach small groups of colleagues at the school, with a programme built around the English your team uses at work.
Do you offer TEFL teacher training?
Yes. Kidsangsan Language School is the approved school behind Essential TEFL, a four week, 120 hour TEFL course in Bangkok. See the TEFL course page for details.
