Beginner English course in Bangkok.
For students who know a little English and want to use it with confidence, from primary school age to adults starting out.
Level one of three.
Who the course is for
Beginner students already have English around them. They use some English words at home, sing along to songs, play games in English and recognise letters and short words. What they cannot yet do is hold a conversation or write more than a few words. This course changes that.
The course suits students completing primary school, teenagers who have had little practice speaking and adults who want to start again with a strong base.
What you will learn
- Speak in short, clear sentences about yourself, your day and your plans
- Understand everyday spoken English at a natural speed
- Read short texts and write simple messages, notes and emails
- Build the vocabulary and grammar you need for daily life and school
- Pronounce English sounds and words so that people understand you
- Use English with confidence, in class and outside it
How the lessons work
You speak in every lesson. Your teacher sets up pair work, group tasks and role plays so you use new language straight away, then corrects you and explains the grammar behind the mistake. Feedback comes in the moment, when it is most useful, and your teacher tracks your progress from the first lesson.
Every teacher at Kidsangsan is a native English speaker who holds a British teacher training certificate. Classes are small, so you get attention and time to talk.
Assessment
Your teacher assesses you throughout the course on:
- Class participation
- Completing the set exercises
- An oral examination
- Formal assessments at the end of the course
Students who pass move up to the intermediate course.
Questions and answers
Do I need to speak any English to join the beginner course?
You need a little. Beginner students know some English words, can read the letters and may use English in songs, games or at school. If you are starting from nothing, tell us and we will plan private lessons to get you ready.
How do I know Beginner is the right level for me?
Take the placement test at the school. It is short and there is nothing to prepare. We see your level and recommend Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced.
What happens at the end of the beginner course?
You take a formal assessment, including an oral exam. Students who pass move up to the intermediate course.
